Kitchen Garbage Disposal Repair, Installation & Service
MASTER PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING installs and repairs garbage disposal units in Stratford, Bridgeport, Milford, Trumbull, and in most towns in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
A garbage disposal unit ensures the proper break-down of waste so your drain pipes won't become clogged by large particles that might embed themselves and block flow. If your garbage disposal has stopped working, you could try pressing the reset which is typically located at the base of most units, under the sink. If this doesn't solve the problem, kindly phone us at 203-386-1730, or click here to request garbage disposal service or garbage disposal installation online.
As a general rule of thumb, do not put coffee grounds, eggshells or potato peelings into your disposal unit. Any of the aforementioned can easily end up clogging your drain. Coffee grounds and eggshells, once ground into fine particles, will stick to any existing sludge in your pipes and will create blockage in short order. Potato peelings when ground will yield a starchy paste that will also clog your drain. Also, avoid putting bones or corn husks into your unit as they will undoubtedly jam it.
NEVER USE YOUR HANDS TO REMOVE ANYTHING FROM YOUR DISPOSAL UNIT!
YOU SHOULD NEVER USE A CAUSTIC DRAIN OPENER IN YOUR DISPOSAL UNIT!
Foul odors emanating from your unit? Try slicing up some lemon peels (you can also use orange peels) and dropping them into your drain with some ice cubes and a small amount (short squirt) of liquid dish-washing detergent. Run the unit for half a minute and then turn on your cold water and run for another half a minute. If necessary, repeat the above.
